Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American screen and stage actress best recognized for her roles in films in Ray Undercover Brother and on the TV show The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies from Brown University as well as an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue l. Ellis is is an American producer and actress who has worked in theater and television as and is present on both sides of the screen. Aunjanue L. Ellis started her acting career in the theater. Then, she appeared in television shows as well as independent and mainstream film. She gained fame for playing Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico. In the following year, she made an appearance in BET's epic television series The Book of Negroes. Her first professional performance was in the role of Ariel as Ariel in The Tempest.
